New Changes to Gmail Can Hurt Your Sales

Google is at it again, moving things forward and changing up the technology landscape. Gmail is introducing some new features and rolling out a new inbox protocol. They are going to start automatically filtering your email messages for you. If you use Google Apps for your business email or email marketing, this applies to you.

What does this mean for your small business?

What this means for marketing your small business is your emails to your list of subscribers could skip their inbox completely! This is because this change will categorize your business messages to followers as “Promotions” and automatically makes them skip your customer’s inbox.

That means that your customers won’t see any email from your business in their main inbox UNLESS you adjust your gmail settings!

Fear not, making sure your customers get your emails is an easy fix. Google is still rolling this system out to users overtime. But the sooner you can make this change the happier your customers will be. Just ask your subscriber list to follow the below directions.

To make sure you don’t miss out on our updates at Local Fresh, change your setting with these easy directions:

• Drag one of  our emails to the “Primary” tag. Then make sure you click “Yes” when the alert pops up.

• If you want to completely remove these new tabs – go to the Settings box in the upper right hand corner of your inbox and select “Settings.” Click on the “Inbox” tab and unselect all categories but “Primary” (don’t forget to save your changes).

— done and done.

Thanks in advance for making sure we can stay connected!
