Oregon Annual Mission of Mercy Clinic Needs Volunteers!

The Oregon Mission of Mercy is now seeking volunteers for the 2013 free clinic held in the Oregon Convention Center in downtown Portland.

Hoping to help as many as 1,000 patients each day during this event, the Oregon Mission of Mercy (OrMOM) free clinic for those in need will be Monday & Tuesday, 11/25 and 11/26. They rely heavily on volunteers, from doctors to hygienists to those who provide registration and food for volunteers. Each and every volunteer lends a different talent and makes a huge difference in the lives of patients.

The Oregon Mission of Mercy provides free dental care to local residents who otherwise are unable to receive treatment. At each event, volunteer dentists and hygienists place high priority on those suffering from dental infections and pain. They also spend time educating children and adults about good dental care in order to reduce the occurrence of dental disease.

The 2010 Oregon MOM program was the first Mission of Mercy event to be held on the West Coast, providing care to the uninsured, the under-insured and anyone who otherwise has difficulty getting to a dentist.  Those who showed up for care, adults and children, and didn’t have any medically comprimising condition that would prohibit them from receiving care were seen on a first-come, first serve basis.

Take a look at the OrMOM 2013 Volunteer FAQs, and if you have not already done so, register to volunteer!
